James Dwyer

BIO

James is a Rochester native, growing up in Penfield, NY. He attended Marist University for his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences and obtained his Masters degree in Occupational Therapy in 2020 from D’Youville University. He has since specialized in geriatrics, hand therapy, upper extremity rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation and is certified as a vestibular therapist through the American Institute of Balance. 


James has continued his education attending seminars and researching extensively on strategies for pain management including his master’s thesis on psychosocial interventions for chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, Graston certification for instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation, and neuromobilization techniques for upper extremity nerve impingements such as carpal tunnel syndrome.


James has experience working in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living centers, and home health settings in the Greater Rochester Region. He also spent two years working in an orthopedic and neurological specialty clinic in Long Island, NY. 


In his free time, James enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing lacrosse, lifting weights, kayaking, hiking, watching football (Go Bills), and woodworking.
