WHAT TO EXPECT
Your first session begins with a detailed assessment of your movement patterns, posture, and functional goals. Your therapist will introduce the LSVT BIG protocol, which includes large, exaggerated movements that are specifically designed to counteract the slow, small movements caused by Parkinson’s.
Therapy sessions are structured, high-effort, and goal-oriented. You’ll perform repetitive movements that challenge your body to move bigger and more confidently. Daily homework and carryover exercises are part of the program to help reinforce gains in everyday life, such as walking, getting up from a chair, or buttoning a shirt.
OVERVIEW
A Parkinson’s diagnosis doesn’t mean losing control of your movements. LSVT BIG is a proven physical therapy program designed to help people with Parkinson’s disease move with more confidence and strength in everyday life.
Through high-effort, targeted exercises, we focus on making movements bigger and more controlled, helping with everything from walking and balance to buttoning a shirt or getting up from a chair. Every program is tailored to your unique challenges and goals, so you get the support you need to see real, lasting progress.
We've seen patients regain mobility, improve coordination, and rediscover the freedom to move—because small steps in therapy lead to big improvements in life. You don’t have to fight Parkinson’s alone—we’re here to help every step of the way.
